Commonwealth Games 2022 medal tally: India defeats Singapore

Commonwealth Games 2022 is getting closed to its mid-stage, and India has come to be amongst the top performing nations along with Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa and Canada. After claiming first gold in Lawn Bowls, India bags another gold at the Table Tennis final against Singapore.

India’s men’s table tennis team registered a historic win against Singapore by 3-1 in the finals, taking India’s medal tally to 13. With 5 more days left for the competition, India has a chance of outperforming South Africa, as they are one gold away .

Pullela Gopichand helps the badminton team win the silver medal after more than two decades, after losing to the Malaysia team by 2-1 in the mixed badminton finals. Besides, weightlifter Vikas Thakur clinches silver in the Men’s category 86 kg final.

Day 6 might bring some new names into the light, as there are three weightlifting medal matches, four Judo rounds of 16 contests and five boxing quarterfinal matches. As of now, India’s performance is the best among all the Asian nations. Let’s see how it turns out to be on day 6.
